Lisa’s demonstration earlier this year was wonderful and in her one day workshop you will be introduced to the principles of the dynamic and addictive process of woodcut printing. You will practice using gouges on the wood. You will also learn how to care and maintain them. You will design a two colour woodcut image and transfer it to the block before cutting, inking and printing using the ‘reduction’ print method. All materials will be provided by Lisa. Please bring your own sketches based on the theme of nature (plant, animal or bird). Images (10×15 cm) need to be easily separated into white areas, a light colour and a darker colour. You just need to bring along your enthusiasm and ideas. Come and try something different whether you are a novice or a professional it’s sure to be fun! A 10 deposit secures a place or you can pay in full by BACs to Seaton and District Art Society (sort code 30-90-37, account number 24080668).
