In this one-day workshop, you will be introduced to the principles of the dynamic and addictive process of linocut printing. We will practice using lino-cutting tools and learn how to care for and maintain them. We will design a one-colour linocut image and transfer it to the block, before cutting, inking and printing. We will learn how to hand print linocuts using a spoon or Japanese bamboo baren, and compare the results to printing with a Victorian Albion press. This workshop is suitable for beginners, or printmakers who have not done any relief printing for some time and need a refresher.
